Pastor Folu Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has alleged that a pastor of the church absconded with $8,000, abandoned his wife in South Africa, and remarried in the United States.
Speaking during a recent ministration at an RCCG men’s programme, Pastor Folu recounted the shocking incident, which has since sparked reactions online following the circulation of a viral video.
According to her, the errant pastor — said to hail from Ekiti State — was posted to Cape Town, South Africa, where he allegedly diverted $8,000 meant for the purchase of a permanent site for his parish.
Expressing deep concern for the abandoned wife, Pastor Folu disclosed,
“The woman he deserted in South Africa is now in a terrible condition — almost running mad.”
Issuing a stern admonition to RCCG men, she asked,
“What are we going to do? Shall we continue to tolerate such lying and deceitful spirits in the house of God?”
The incident has stirred conversations within and beyond the church community, raising questions about accountability and pastoral integrity in ministry work.
