The Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation on Thursday, July 18, visited the Community LGEA Primary School in Eleyeoka, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, where it donated writing materials and paid the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) levies of the pupils.
The intervention, targeted particularly at kindergarten and lower primary (class 1 to 3) pupils, is part of the Foundation’s ongoing effort to reduce the burden on struggling families while empowering children with the tools needed to succeed in their academic pursuits.
The pupils received essential writing materials including notebooks, pencils, pens, and erasers.
According to Alhaji Omotosho Surajudeen Olaniyi, a representative of the Foundation, the gesture is derived from the present realities as many family have difficulties in provision of these items due to economic hardship.
“The MOK Foundation’s gesture is expected to boost the morale of the young learners and positively impact their educational experience.
“Equally significant was the payment of PTA levies for all pupils in the targeted classes, this is a move warmly welcomed by both parents and teachers. For many families in rural communities, such levies can be a financial strain, often leading to absenteeism or withdrawal of pupils from school,” He said.
Also, Omotosho emphasized that the initiative aligns with the vision of the Foundation’s Founder, Alhaji Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode, to make qualitative education accessible and affordable, especially in underserved areas of the state.
“Alhaji M.O.K., believes that every child deserves a fair chance at education, regardless of their background. By removing some of the financial hurdles, we hope to encourage school attendance and support the learning process,” he said.
The school’s management and teaching staff, visibly elated, expressed their gratitude to the Foundation for the timely intervention.
Prayers and words of appreciation were offered to the MOK Foundation and its leadership for their consistent support to rural education and child development.
The MOK Foundation has in recent years built a reputation for impactful interventions in education, health, and welfare across Kwara South, Kwara State as a whole and beyond, so as to reach some of the most neglected communities with life-changing assistance.
