In a deeply moving show of solidarity, Alhaji Abdulkadir Attahiru Adamu Manko (Zanako Etsu Patigi), renowned business mogul and APC stalwart, stormed Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State on Wednesday to empathize with victims and communities recently affected by attacks from non-state actors.
Manko’s first port of call was the palace of the Emir of Patigi, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Umar Bologi II, where he paid homage and extended words of comfort. Speaking with the Emir, Manko appreciated the royal father’s steadfastness in rallying local and state stakeholders to confront the growing security concerns.
“Your leadership in this trying time is not only commendable but also critical to preserving the unity and safety of your people,” Manko said.
From the palace, Manko proceeded to Emiworogi, where he met with the head of the local vigilante group. There, he offered heartfelt condolences over the recent ambush that claimed the lives of several local hunters. He hailed their bravery and sacrifice in defending their communities.
“This is not a fight for one man. These heroes died protecting us all. Their courage must not be forgotten,” he said.
Manko had earlier sent financial support to the families of the deceased across the three districts—Patigi, Kpada, and Lade.
During his visit, he extended additional financial aid to the widows of the slain hunters.
In a compassionate gesture, Manko also visited the General Hospital, Patigi, where he cleared the medical bills of all admitted patients. Not stopping there, he offered financial support to all 24 hospital staff and about 22 medical students currently undergoing training at the facility.
“I believe in empowering those who serve the people. Our health workers are unsung heroes who deserve all the motivation they can get,” he said during the hospital visit.
The visit also included stops in the communities of Echiwada, Shiangi, and Koro, where Manko personally engaged with affected families and community leaders.
As part of his concluding itinerary, Manko is expected to continue his community outreach in Lade, completing what many have described as a tour of hope, empathy, and reassurance.
Speaking to residents, he warned against the spread of misinformation and emphasized the importance of collective vigilance.
“Security is a collective effort. We must all rise to confront criminality in any form. This is not a time for internal sabotage or fear-mongering. The government is not sleeping, but it needs the cooperation of all of us,” Manko said.
He reiterated his commitment to working with both state and federal authorities to restore peace in Patigi and across Kwara State.
Residents and stakeholders in Patigi have described Manko’s intervention as timely, impactful, and reassuring, especially at a moment when the region is grappling with fear and grief.
