Olawoyin Family Announces BurialArrangements Chief Banji Olawoyin, Bobajiro of Offa

The family of the late Chief Banji Olawoyin, the Bobajiro of Offa and prominent son of the ancient Offa Kingdom, has formally released the burial programme for their beloved patriarch whose death has been described as a monumental loss to Offa, Kwara State, and the nation at large.

According to a statement by the family, the final rites of passage will commence on Sunday, August 10, 2025, with a Commendation Service at The African Church Cathedral Bethel, Abuja, located at Plot 82, Cadastral Zone B1, Apo Durumi II (by GTB Bank, Guru D1 Street, Abuja). The service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

On Friday, August 15, 2025, the body will lie in state at his residence along Ipee Road, Offa, Kwara State, from 12 noon, allowing family, friends, and community members a chance to pay their final respects.

Later that day, a Service of Songs will be held at the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) Hall, Offa, beginning promptly at 3:00 p.m.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at The African Church, Iyeru Okin Parish in Offa, Kwara State. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m., after which the interment will follow immediately at his residence along Ipee Road, Offa.

Chief Banji Olawoyin, a double Chief and proud son of the late Chief J.S. Olawoyin, the first Asiwaju of Offa, is remembered for his enduring legacy of community service, philanthropy, and unwavering commitment to the upliftment of humanity.

He is survived by distinguished members of the Olawoyin family, including Chief Olusegun Olawoyin, Akinrogun of Offa, family members, friends, and admirers who now prepare to bid him a final farewell.
