NELFUND Resumes Upkeep Payments To Students With Updated Bank Details

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has announced the resumption of upkeep allowance disbursements to students who have updated their bank details to conventional commercial accounts.

In a statement issued on Friday via its official X platform, NELFUND’s spokesperson, Mrs Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, confirmed that more than 3,600 students—previously registered with digital-only banking platforms—have now received their outstanding payments following the update of their financial details on the NELFUND portal.

“This development marks a major milestone in resolving the delays experienced in previous disbursement cycles,” the statement noted. “We commend the patience and cooperation of affected students, whose resilience has been instrumental in achieving this progress.”

NELFUND advised students who are yet to receive their upkeep allowances and are still using digital wallets to raise a support ticket through the official portal in order to gain access to update their banking information. Alternatively, unresolved cases can be channelled through the IT departments of respective institutions, which will compile and forward the necessary data to NELFUND for prompt resolution.

Reiterating its commitment to inclusive service delivery, the agency stated:
“NELFUND remains unwavering in its goal to ensure that no eligible student is excluded. This ongoing resolution process is part of our broader strategy to strengthen transparency, responsiveness, and efficiency in our operations.”

Students were also urged to engage strictly through official NELFUND channels and to assist peers who may encounter difficulties during the update process.
