Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has forwarded the names of six commissioner-nominees to the Enugu State House of Assembly for confirmation, amid an unfolding shake-up in the state’s executive council.
This development coincides with the resignation of the Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Industry, Adaora Chukwu, who announced her departure in a statement issued Thursday. Although Chukwu offered no official reason for her resignation, her exit comes as the governor embarks on key appointments, raising speculations of an impending cabinet reshuffle.
In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, the nominees sent for legislative confirmation are:
Benjamin Okoh
Prof. Benedeth Okoli
Enyinna Ogbonna
Dr. Samuel Ogbu-Nwobodo
Prof. George Ugwu
Ben Collins Ndu Jr.
Additionally, Governor Mbah has approved the appointment of Dr. Godwin Anigbo as the new Head of Service, with immediate effect.
