On Sunday, 6th July 2025, Isin Local Government hosted the monthly unification meeting of the House of Assembly Honourable Members and the Executive Chairmen of Kwara South extraction. The Executive Chairman of Isin Local Government, Hon Benjamin Jolayemi, was the chief host for this month’s (July 2025) meeting. The monthly unification meeting that is rotated across Kwara South senatorial district is the first of it kind in the history of Kwara State. The initiative is geared towards evolving a new political order that will entrench unity, progress, and development in Kwara South. The initiative is spare headed by the House of Assembly Honourable Members and Council Chairmen of Kwara South extraction.
This sixth round of consecutive monthly meetings hosted this time in Isin Local Government had the following in attendance: Rt Hon Ojo Olayiwola, Deputy Speaker (Oke Ogun Constituency); Hon Gani Abolarin, Chief Whip (Ekiti Constituency); Hon AGF Salahuddeen (Omupo Constituency); Hon Rasaq Omotosho (Isin Constituency); Hon Joseph Bamgboye (Oke-Ero Constituency); Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi (Ojomu Balogun Constituency); Hon Chief Benjamin Jolayemi (Chairman Isin LG); Hon Abdulazeez Yakub (Irepodun LG); Hon Femi Yusuf (Ifelodun LG); Hon James Fadipe (Chairman Oke Ero LG); Hon Sulaiman Olatunji (Chairman Offa LG); and Hon Wale Awelewa (Chairman Ekiti LG)
Other leaders also present at the meeting are: Hon Chief Bisi Oloruntoba; Hon Prince Oladipo Omole; Elder Babatunde Ishola; Hon Mrs. Funke Oyedun; Elder Olu Adewara; Hon Wasiu Bamidele; Elder Abiodun Ishola; Chief Saka Balogun; Isin Legislative Council led by Hon Tope Alabi; Isin Local Government Party structure led by the Party Chairman along with the local CWC. Also in attendance are the Ward Chairmen along with the Ward Central Working Committee (CWC). Members of the Kwara South Equity Advocate Group drawn from across the seven local governments of Kwara South led by Alhaji Ibrahim Lawal were also present.
The stakeholders present in Isin Local Government unanimously agreed and resolved as follows:
1. Profoundly appreciate Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON for his unprecedented infrastructural development of the state, including those projects situated within Kwara South
2. Pledged continued support for the policies and programs of the state government under the able and dynamic leadership of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq CON.
3. Emphasizing that by 2027, out of the 28 years of the current democratic dispensation, Kwara Central would have spent 20 years, while Kwara South spent 8 years with zero years spent for Kwara North. In the spirit of equity, fairness, and justice, all stakeholders present at the meeting align with the call for power shift to Kwara North come 2027.
