Kwara Monarch, Alaho of Aho-Igbada, Oba Jubril Abolaji Maranro Is Dead

The traditional ruler of Aho-Igbada in Oyun Local Government Area of Kwara State, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jubril Abolaji Maranro, the Alaho of Aho-Igbada, has passed on.

The revered monarch, whose reign was marked by peace, cultural renaissance, and steady community development, reportedly died after a brief illness, although official details surrounding his demise remain undisclosed as of press time.

Oba Maranro ascended the throne as the Alaho of Aho-Igbada several years ago and quickly distinguished himself as a forward-thinking, people-oriented leader who prioritized the unity, progress, and cultural heritage of his people. His tenure witnessed remarkable strides in infrastructural development, youth empowerment, and traditional institution revitalization within the Aho-Igbada community.

Describing the late monarch’s death as a monumental loss, the Elemona of Ilemona Land, Oba Nurudeen Alowonle Yusuf, Ilufemiloye Oyekanmi II, in a condolence message, praised Oba Maranro’s unwavering dedication to the traditional institution and grassroots development. He referred to him as a “committed nationalist and a traditional ruler per excellence” whose leadership would be greatly missed.

“His reign brought tremendous growth to the Aho-Igbada Kingdom. He was a unifying figure and a tireless advocate for the well-being of his people,” Kabiesi Elemona stated in the message issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Comrade AbdulRauf Abdullahi Opeyemi.

Community members and traditional leaders across Kwara State have begun pouring in tributes, remembering Oba Maranro as a humble and visionary ruler whose legacy will live on.

As the community mourns, preparations for funeral rites are expected to be announced by the Aho-Igbada Royal Family in due course.
