A leading All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and founder of the Honourable Moshood Adeleke (HMA) Foundation, Hon. Moshood Adeleke, has expressed deep sadness over the death of Oba Muhammed Jamiu Olanrewaju Adedamola Omikunle II, the Oludofian of Idofian in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
In a condolence message made available to newsmen Thursday evening, Hon. Adeleke, an indigene of Irra in Oyun Local Government and aspirant for the 2027 Offa/Oyun/Ifelodun Federal Constituency seat, described the late monarch as “a beacon of peace, wisdom, and traditional excellence whose impact on his community will endure for generations.”
“The news of Kabiesi’s passing came as a painful shock. Oba Omikunle II was a humble and visionary leader whose love for his people was evident in the way he carried out his royal duties. His reign promoted harmony, cultural pride, and grassroots development in Idofian and beyond,” Adeleke stated.
He further noted that the monarch’s death—coming just days after the passing of the Alaho of Aho-Igbada—marks a sorrowful moment for traditional institutions and all well-meaning sons and daughters of Kwara South.
Hon. Adeleke prayed for the peaceful repose of the monarch’s soul and urged the royal family, the Idofian community, and the Ifelodun traditional council to take solace in the late king’s admirable legacy.
“May Almighty Allah grant Kabiesi eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus, forgive his shortcomings, and comfort the entire people of Idofian and the larger Ifelodun Local Government during this difficult time,” he said.
