Prominent tourism entrepreneur and cultural activist, Hafsat Yetunde Jatto, extends birthday wishes to Olajumoke Saliu, the dynamic Founder of the Charitable Network for Community Empowerment (CHANCE) and Chief Executive Officer of Trendy Motives Limited (TML), as she marks another milestone in her inspiring life journey.
Hafsat Jatto, who is the Executive Director of Ankara Tours and Afzal Travels and Tours Limited, and an ardent promoter of African tourism and women empowerment, described Saliu as “a torchbearer in the fight for inclusive development and a trailblazer in community service.”
“Olajumoke Saliu is not only a visionary entrepreneur, she is also a committed development advocate who has consistently used her platforms to uplift the marginalized and give a voice to women and youth,” Jatto noted.
Olajumoke Saliu, a graduate of Queen’s College, Lagos, holds both a BSc and MSc in Economics. Her early professional career included stints at Stanbic IBTC, Citi Bank, and KPMG Professional Services, where she worked in various roles including customer care, operations, and taxation. Eventually, she turned her full attention to Trendy Motives Limited, her thriving events company.
Her foray into politics came in 2017 when she was elected Chairperson of Eredo LCDA in Lagos State. It was during her tenure that she initiated CHANCE (originally the Chairperson’s Network for Community Empowerment) to address critical needs within her constituency.
The initiative, later rebranded and registered in 2020 as Charitable Network for Community Empowerment (CHANCE), has since made lasting impact through programs focused on women’s empowerment, education, healthcare, and support for the aged and widowed.
To date, CHANCE has been empowering women and youths with startup equipment, supporting widows and elderly individuals with food and financial aid, conducted free medical outreach for over thousands of beneficiaries, reaching thousands of children through welfare drives, and distributed educational materials to schools.
Saliu’s outstanding contributions have earned her several accolades and awards.
