Emmanuel Ikazoboh Succeeds Aliko Dangote As Chairman Of Dangote Cement Plc

Dangote Cement Plc has announced the appointment of Emmanuel Ikazoboh as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors, following the resignation of Aliko Dangote, effective 25th July 2025.

The development was confirmed in an official statement issued on Friday by Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Industries Limited.

In his acceptance remarks, Mr Ikazoboh expressed his commitment to upholding strong governance principles and fostering sustainable growth for the company.

The board also approved the appointment of Hajiya Mariya Aliko Dangote to the Board of Directors, further reinforcing its corporate leadership structure.

Dangote Cement, a leading player in Africa’s cement industry with a revenue of N2.07 trillion as of June 2025, continues to consolidate its position as the top performer in the 52.0 MTA (Million Tonnes per Annum) category.

Emmanuel Ikazoboh brings a wealth of experience to the role. He is a former Group Chairman of Ecobank Transnational Inc., the pan-African banking giant. He began his professional journey with Akintola Williams Deloitte, eventually becoming managing partner for the firm’s Francophone West African offices in Cameroon and Côte d’Ivoire. He later rose to become managing partner for Deloitte in West and Central Africa until his retirement in 2009.

In 2010, Ikazoboh was appointed by Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as interim administrator to lead critical reforms at the Nigerian Stock Exchange and the Central Securities Clearing System Plc.

His track record in regulatory reform, governance, and corporate transformation positions him as a strategic leader to guide Dangote Cement through its next phase of development.
