The Delta State House of Assembly is set to resume deliberation on the case of a suspended staff member of the Delta Printing and Publishing Corporation (DPPC), following a petition submitted by the aggrieved employee, Joy Fasindor.
Fasindor, who claims to have been placed on indefinite suspension without pay, had petitioned the Assembly three weeks ago, seeking its intervention in what she described as an unjust disciplinary action.
During plenary on Tuesday, presided over by Speaker Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, it was disclosed that the matter has been deferred to 2 September 2025. The delay follows the failure of the House Committee on Public Petition to present its report at today’s sitting.
Deputy Chairman of the Committee and member representing Burutu II Constituency, Hon. Oloye Pereotu, requested additional time to thoroughly examine the issues raised in the petition. He assured that the committee would utilise the extension to conclude its findings and submit a comprehensive report.
The deferment coincides with the commencement of the House’s annual recess, as formally announced during the plenary.
