The remains of former President Muhammadu Buhari will arrive in Katsina State by midday on Tuesday, 15 July, ahead of his interment scheduled for 2:00 p.m. in Daura.

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda announced this during a media briefing on Monday in Katsina, following consultations with Buhari’s family and close associates in London, where the former president passed away.

Radda confirmed that the burial will be conducted in accordance with Islamic rites.

The governor also extended condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State.

“We also commiserate with His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the passing of his predecessor. May Allah grant us all the fortitude to bear this monumental loss,” Radda stated.

He added that the burial arrangements are being jointly coordinated by the Katsina State Government, federal authorities, and the Buhari family to ensure a dignified and solemn farewell befitting the late statesman.
