The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially scheduled its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting for Wednesday, July 24, 2025.
This was confirmed in a statement released via the party’s verified X handle on Friday. The APC urged all NEC members to take the notice seriously, citing the provisions of Article 12.3 of the party’s constitution, which outlines the composition and responsibilities of the NEC.
According to the constitution, the NEC comprises the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), the National Secretary, and other key party stakeholders.
The announcement comes in the wake of significant leadership changes within the party. Former National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, resigned his position last Friday. In response, the party appointed Ali Bukar Dalori, the former Deputy National Chairman (North), to serve in an acting capacity.
Dalori formally assumed office as Acting National Chairman on Monday. His emergence follows a series of leadership transitions, with Ganduje himself having taken over in August 2023 after the resignation of his predecessor, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.
In his inaugural remarks, Dalori pledged to steer the party with transparency, inclusiveness, and a unified vision. He emphasised the need for discipline, strategic focus, and internal cohesion, calling on NEC members to prioritise good governance and the strengthening of democratic values within the APC.
He urged members to remain committed to the broader national interest and to collaborate as partners in advancing the party’s objectives.
