A Toyota Camry has reportedly plunged off the Sapon Bridge in Abeokuta, Ogun State, crashing onto a commercial taxi beneath.
A video posted by #Gugumedia_ on X.com (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday captured a chaotic scene, as onlookers gathered in large numbers to aid in the rescue efforts.
According to the post, the incident involved a woman driving a Lexus with two children on board. The vehicle allegedly veered off the bridge near the Sapon traffic light and landed atop a taxi.
“A lady driving a Lexus car fell off the bridge at the Sapon traffic light in Abeokuta, with two kids in the car. She landed on a taxi cab, but thankfully, there were no fatalities—only injuries were sustained. May God continue to protect us. Amen,” the post read.
As of press time, the identities of the victims remain unconfirmed. However, multiple sources online report that all injured persons have been transported to the Ogun State General Hospital in Ijaiye for urgent medical attention.
