Tel Aviv, Israel – At least two people have been confirmed dead and multiple residential buildings damaged following a series of Iranian missile strikes on Israel’s coastal region, including Tel Aviv.
According to The Jerusalem Post, an Israeli woman succumbed to injuries sustained during the initial wave of attacks, while another fatality occurred during the fourth round of strikes. Local authorities reported that several homes were either destroyed or partially damaged, with emergency services actively searching for survivors amid the rubble.
The Israeli National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) confirmed that 21 individuals were being treated and evacuated following one of the strikes on the coastal plain.
The missile barrage began late Friday and continued into the early hours of Saturday, with ballistic missiles launched by Iran targeting multiple locations across Israel. The Iranian offensive is seen as part of a retaliatory response amid escalating regional tensions.
Visuals circulating on social media platforms showed scenes of devastation, including collapsed structures and residents fleeing affected areas.
The News Bulletin Nigeria, NBN, earlier reported that Israel had conducted several airstrikes on Iranian targets, a move believed to have triggered the retaliatory missile attacks.
As of press time, Israeli defence authorities are continuing damage assessments, while international observers have raised concerns over further escalation.
