A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the relocation of the trial of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to the headquarters of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Justice James Omotosho, who issued the directive, said the transfer is to facilitate the physical inspection of a shipping container reportedly linked to the case.
According to the court, the container was allegedly used by the defendant to smuggle a radio transmitter into the country for broadcasts on Radio Biafra — the media arm of IPOB.
Kanu is currently facing terrorism-related charges brought by the Federal Government over his separatist agitation and alleged inciting broadcasts.
The relocation of the trial venue comes amid heightened security concerns and follows previous adjournments tied to procedural and logistical challenges. The court is expected to resume hearings at the DSS facility in the coming days.
