[PHOTOS] 70 Aspiring Models Attend African Fashion Fusion Show Casting in Offa

At least 70 aspiring models have reportedly turned out yesterday, Saturday, May 31, 2025, for the much-anticipated model casting of the inaugural African Fashion Fusion Show.

The show is set to hold from June 14 to 15 in Offa, Kwara State.

The casting, held at the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) Hall, commenced promptly at 10:00 a.m. and witnessed a diverse mix of hopefuls, comprised of male and female, vying for a chance to grace the runway of what promises to be a defining cultural and fashion event in Nigeria.

Organizers described the turnout as “inspiring and encouraging,” particularly for a debut edition.

The 70 participants, drawn from various parts of Kwara State and beyond, were evaluated based on poise, confidence, physical attributes, runway walk, and adherence to the strict casting guidelines set by the show’s creative team.

“We are thrilled by the level of interest this show has generated. The number of participants exceeded our expectations, and it reflects the enthusiasm young Nigerians have for fashion and African cultural expression,” Amb. Munirat Babalola, Miss Amity Queen Moremi Ajasoro International 2024/2025 disclosed.

The casting requirements were clear and uncompromising. Female participants were expected to be at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, a size 6 or above, and appear in black jeans, a black tank top or camisole, and stilettos with at least 4-inch heels. Makeup was strictly prohibited, and hair had to be neatly packed away from the face.

Male models, on the other hand, were required to be no less than 5 feet 9 inches tall and arrive in black trousers or jeans, a black shirt or turtleneck, and formal black shoes. Grooming standards were strictly enforced, with no sneakers allowed and emphasis placed on neat hairstyles.

As the African Fashion Fusion Show gears up for its maiden edition in mid-June, the model selection marks a major milestone in its preparation.

The show is expected to be a cultural fiesta spotlighting African fashion, heritage, arts and crafts, and creative exhibitions, and will feature designers, artists, and performers from across the continent.

With the successful completion of the model casting, organizers now turn their attention to rehearsals and fittings as they prepare for a spectacular event that merges tradition with modern flair.
