[PHOTOS] 2027: Kwankwaso Ally, Asiwaju Mashood Shittu Meets Kaduna Youths, Calls for Inter-Party Unity and Youth Inclusion

As the countdown to the 2027 general elections begins, Asiwaju Mashood Shittu, the National Coordinator of the Kwankwaso National Network (KNN) and former National Chairman of the Alliance National Party (ANP), has called for a new political consciousness driven by Nigerian youths across party lines.

Shittu, who is also a national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), met with a group of politically active youths in Kaduna on earlier today, where he emphasized the need for collective engagement in shaping the future of Nigeria’s democracy.

Addressing the young participants drawn from various political parties, Shittu said the meeting was part of an ongoing consultative effort ahead of 2027.

He stressed the importance of cross-party collaboration, youth involvement, and long-term democratic planning.

“The future of this country cannot be left in the hands of only the elderly. It is time the youths are not just mobilised for elections but brought to the roundtable where real decisions are made,” he said.

He warned against a system where only former, current, or aspiring office holders are seen as custodians of national decisions, noting that this approach has often sidelined the people whose lives are most affected.

> “We can no longer trust only politicians in office or aspiring ones with the destiny of millions. All of us must be part of the national conversation. By this, I mean young people, civil society, and emerging voices and others,” he added.

According to Shittu, the meeting in Kaduna is one of several planned interactions across Nigeria aimed at galvanizing youth action, building a new political narrative, and fostering democratic resilience beyond party affiliations.
