In an era where economic uncertainty and food insecurity threaten many Nigerian states, Osun stands at a unique crossroads.
The choice of its next governor is not just a political decision; it’s an agricultural and economic lifeline. And if there’s any candidate whose ideas speak directly to the soul of the land and its people, it is Kunle Adegoke, SAN, popularly known as K-RAD.
K-RAD isn’t just running a campaign. He is laying out a blueprint for a new Osun, one where agriculture transforms from mere subsistence into structured prosperity, household by household. His vision is bold, audacious, and refreshingly practical.
Imagine a scenario in 2029 where eight out of every ten households in Osun owns two cows, not for ceremonial purposes or prestige, but for structured economic empowerment. That’s the plan K-RAD is proposing. He’s proposing a Household Dairy Farming Programme built on strategic simplicity.
Here’s how it works:
Each household gets at least two cows.
Itinerant milk collectors buy milk daily, paying on the spot.
Animal feed is provided on credit and repaid with raw milk.
The government ensures the infrastructure; fenced plots, veterinary support, breeding services, and cooperative structures.
This isn’t idealism. It’s the sort of ground-up empowerment that built agricultural giants like India and Kenya. With an estimated value of ₦3 million per cow, a household with two cows will essentially be managing a ₦6 million asset. At a conservative estimate of 15,000 naira daily income per household, the ripple effect on Osun’s GDP would be unprecedented.
And most importantly, this model doesn’t just generate income. It creates resilience. In a country where the naira’s value is unpredictable and inflation eats into savings, having wealth stored in productive livestock is a smart hedge.
But dairy alone isn’t enough. Every revolution needs a backbone, and for K-RAD, that comes in the form of serious investment in crop farming. His promise to undertake land clearing in the first year—including removal of vegetation, roots, and rocks—might seem simple, but it is a game-changer.
Farmers across Osun are burdened with inaccessible or unusable lands. Clearing land—an expensive, labor-intensive process—has been a barrier for many willing hands. If government steps in to handle this, we will see:
An explosion in crop production.
Lower cost of entry for young and small-scale farmers.
Greater food security and job creation.
By standing as Buyer of Last Resort, the K-RAD administration would also ensure that no farmer is ever left stranded with unsold harvests again. This alone builds confidence, eliminates waste, and stabilizes rural incomes.
K-RAD’s plan for Osun is not just rooted in policy; it is rooted in empathy and foresight. He’s thinking like a farmer who understands the land, the market, and the family. He’s planning like a reformer who sees agriculture not as a sector, but as a lifeline to rebuild Osun’s middle class.
Advanced dairy breeds, veterinary support, cooperative societies, and less dependence on exploitative middlemen—these are not promises; they are systems. And systems are what transform nations.
Why K-RAD in 2026?
Because Osun does not need another politician. Osun needs a builder, someone who can combine legal intellect with grassroots solutions. Someone who speaks the language of the people, but thinks in generational strategy. Someone who is not merely seeking office, but seeking to leave a legacy.
