Ibrahim Masari, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and close associate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, says supporters of the president have no reason to regret their decision in the 2023 general elections.
Speaking during an interview with the BBC, Masari praised Tinubu’s performance as his administration marks two years in office.
“Anyone who voted for President Tinubu, between themselves and God, has no regrets,” he said, emphasizing the president’s achievements in key areas such as security and the economy despite the economic challenges currently facing many Nigerians.
Masari highlighted the removal of the fuel subsidy as one of the president’s boldest and most impactful decisions. He described it as a necessary move that previous administrations lacked the political will to implement.
“Past presidents wanted to remove the subsidy but couldn’t. Tinubu did it because of how much national resources were being wasted,” he said.
According to Masari, eliminating the subsidy has freed up funds that are now being channeled into critical development projects at both federal and state levels. He maintained that these efforts are already helping to improve governance and public services.
While acknowledging the economic hardship being felt across the country, Masari insisted that Tinubu’s decisions are intended to lay the foundation for a more stable and prosperous Nigeria in the long term.
