The National Association of Nigeria Colleges of Education Students (NANCES) has formally impeached its National President, Comrade Eegunjobi Samuel, popularly known as Sammy P.

This development was confirmed in a statement made available to NewsBulletin Nigeria on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

According to the communiqué, Comrade Samuel, a student of Osun State College of Education, Ila-Orangun, was removed from office following findings from a detailed investigation into a series of serious allegations. These include a gross violation of the association’s constitution, unlawful extension of tenure, financial misappropriation, and the unauthorised possession of the association’s property, specifically a CNG-powered bus.

The statement reads in part:

“Comrade Eegunjobi Samuel is hereby declared impeached and banned from holding any NANCES office henceforth. This decision was made in the interest of accountability, transparency, and to preserve the integrity of our union.”

NANCES leadership further urged law enforcement agencies — including the Nigeria Police Force, DSS, and EFCC — to arrest and investigate the former president for alleged criminal offences such as theft and abuse of office.

This marks the first time in the association’s history that a sitting president has been impeached for misconduct, setting what NANCES describes as a “historical precedent.”

Relevant authorities and stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, the National Commission for Colleges of Education, and the NANS National Secretariat, have been officially notified.
