Man In Police Net For Trafficking Nigerian Girls To Libya

The Benue State Police Command has apprehended a man, Torngusha Usuwe, for allegedly killing his mother during a domestic dispute in Gungul Village, Ukum Local Government Area.

According to a report by counter-insurgency analyst Makama Zagazola, published via his verified X handle, the tragic incident occurred on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at approximately 2:30 p.m. during a heated argument between the suspect and his mother.

Zagazola reported that Usuwe allegedly struck his mother on the left jaw with a wooden stick, resulting in a severe fracture. The blow caused significant bleeding from her mouth and ear.

She was rushed to Zege Nyion Clinic in Gungul for emergency medical attention but was pronounced dead around 8:00 p.m. the same day.

The incident was reported to the authorities by Terwase Usuwe, a relative of the deceased. In response, police operatives were dispatched to the scene, where the victim’s body was documented, evacuated, and deposited at the Gungul Memory Integrated Morgue for autopsy.

The suspect is currently in police custody as investigations continue. Attempts to reach the Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Udeme Edet, for an official statement were unsuccessful as of press time.
