As part of its commitment to celebrating local excellence and fostering youth empowerment, The Made in Offa initiative paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Offa Local Government, Hon. (Alhaji) Sulaiman Olatunji Laaro Omituntun , during the week.

The visit, which took place at the Offa LG secretariat, was also witnessed by the Speaker of the Offa Legislative Council, Rt Hon Sharafa Olawale Mustapha (Sharon) Offa.

The Made in Offa team presented the Chairman with copies of its maiden magazine.

According to MIO team, the publication was an effort to showcase the talent, enterprise, and innovation of young individuals from Offa.

The magazine, which was launched during the Made in Offa 4th Edition, features stories of entrepreneurial breakthroughs, challenges, and creative excellence among Offa’s vibrant youth population.

In recognition of Hon. Omituntun’s support for youth-focused initiatives in the local government area, the team honoured him with an Honorary Award of Excellence.

The award, according to the group, was a testament to the Chairman’s “relentless efforts to promote youth development, foster an enabling environment for innovation, and uplift emerging talents in Offa.”

In his response, Hon. Omituntun expressed appreciation for the recognition and lauded the Made in Offa team for creating a platform that not only celebrates achievements but also motivates more youths to pursue excellence.

He pledged continued support for initiatives that align with the development goals of the local government.

On her part, Rt. Hon Sharon praised the Made in Offa project. He described it as a beacon of hope and a powerful model for youth-led advocacy and community engagement.

He encouraged other young people in Offa to emulate the team’s vision and drive.

The courtesy visit also served as a strategy session, explored potential areas of collaboration between the local government, the legislative council, and the Made in Offa platform to scale up its impact and reach.

Now in its fourth year, Made in Offa has become a signature platform for spotlighting homegrown talent through its annual awards ceremony, publication, and advocacy campaigns.

The success of the fourth edition, held at the Imperial Event Centre opposite Summit University, has further cemented its role in documenting, empowering, and inspiring Offa’s youth.
