On Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, the NUJ Hall, Opposition St. Anthony, GRA, Ilorin, Kwara State, was abuzz with excitement as the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Kwara State Axis inaugurated its 2025 executives.
The ceremony, which commenced at 11:10 am, was anchored by Comr. Ilias Kamaldeen, former S.A. Media and Publicity to the former NANS Kwara Chairman.
In his opening remarks, Comr. Ibrahim Razak Jeje, Founder of ZETSI, Africa, took the audience on a nostalgic journey through the history of NANS, highlighting its triumphs, challenges, and future prospects.
His thought-provoking insights set the tone for a day of reflection, inspiration, and new beginnings.
The keynote speech, delivered by Mr. Lanre, Chairman of the NUJ, emphasized the importance of student leadership, unity, and collective responsibility.
He charged the new executives to prioritize the welfare and interests of NANS members, while promoting a culture of excellence and innovation.
In a captivating lecture, Mr. Waheed Onikanhun, Registrar of Ahmad Pategi University, explored the roles of student leaders in students’ constituencies, communities, political and government affairs.
He underscored the need for student leaders to be proactive, responsive, and accountable to the needs of their constituents.
Comr. Salami Wasiu Onidugbè, S.A. Students Affairs to the Executive Governor of Kwara State, brought a message of goodwill and encouragement.
He urged the new executives to build on the legacy of their predecessors and stakeholders, while working tirelessly to promote the interests of NANS members.
Comr. Saleeman Yusuf Issah ACA, AAT, former Chairman of NANS Kwara, in his goodwill message, emphasized the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence among the Kwara comrades’ community.
He appreciated stakeholders for their unwavering support and pledged to continue providing guidance and mentorship to the new executives.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by notable figures, including SUG Presidents from various institutions, such as Kwara State College of Education Ilorin, Kwara State College of Education, Oro, and Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa.
Other dignitaries present included Comr. Zakariyah Ismail (Tsmile), Comr. Super, Comr. Dolapo, Actor Finest Adigun, Comr. Salaudeen Afeez (the former secretary NANS Zone C) and the National President of IESU.
In a solemn and dignified ceremony, Barr. Ibrahim Moshood Esq formally sworn in and inaugurated the 2025 executives of NANS Kwara.
Comr. Issa Abdulgafar A. (SAOTY) The Chairman expressed heartfelt gratitude to stakeholders, senators, supporters, and comrades for their unwavering support and pledged to take the association to the next level.
As the ceremony drew to a close, Comr. Rachael, SUG President of Kwara State College of Education, Oro, delivered a stirring closing remark, encapsulating the spirit of the day.
The inauguration marked a new chapter in the leadership of NANS Kwara State Axis, with the new executives poised to take the organization forward with renewed vigor, commitment, and dedication.
