Kaduna ALGON Threatens Legal Action Over Alleged N4.6bn Vehicle Purchase Claim

The Kaduna State chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) has threatened to sue one Imrana Wakili over what it described as false allegations made against Governor Uba Sani.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, @iu_wakili, Imrana alleged that Governor Sani approved N4.6 billion for the purchase of vehicles for local government chairmen.

However, in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Alhaji Muhammad Lawal Shehu, ALGON dismissed the claim as “false and baseless,” insisting that no such approval was made.

The group demanded an immediate retraction of the statement and a public apology from Imrana, warning that failure to do so within seven days would result in legal action.

“Governor Uba Sani has consistently prioritized fiscal discipline and cost-cutting since assuming office,” the statement read.

ALGON further described the document cited in Imrana’s post as a “fabrication,” allegedly crafted to mislead the public and discredit the governor’s administration.

The association also cautioned individuals against spreading false or malicious information, urging them to desist from actions capable of inciting public mistrust.
