Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Tehran is prepared to halt its military operations against Israel—on the condition that Israel ends its aggression.
This comes after Iranian state media outlet SNN reported that Iran had launched what it called “a final round of missiles” toward Israeli targets, ahead of a potential ceasefire.
Israel, in its official statement, confirmed that at least three people were killed during the Tuesday morning strikes. The development followed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that Iran and Israel had reached a “complete and total ceasefire.”
But Araghchi, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), denied that any formal ceasefire had been agreed upon.
“As of now, there is NO ‘agreement’ on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations,” he wrote.
“However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 a.m. Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards.”
He emphasized that the final decision regarding a cessation of hostilities would be made later.
The back-and-forth comes amid escalating tensions in the region, raising global concern over the potential for broader conflict.
