A host of prominent political figures, traditional leaders, and distinguished personalities are expected to converge in Offa, Kwara State, for the 55th memorial ceremony in honour of the late Prince S.A.B. Oloyede of the Obatiwajoye Compound, who passed on May 19, 1970.
The event, slated for Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Imperial Event Center, opposite Summit University, Offa, will be hosted by the Oloyede family, with the reception to follow immediately at the same venue.
Guests are expected to attend in sky blue, the colour of the day.
Among the high-profile dignitaries scheduled to attend are the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; Deputy Governor of Kwara State, Elder Kayode Alabi; Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engr Yakubu Danladi Salihu; Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South, Senator Lola Ashiru; Senator representing Kwara North, Senator Sadiq Umar; and the Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission, Hajia Fareedah Dankaka.
Also expected are the Asiwaju of Offa, Alhaji Tajudeen Salaudeen Owoyemi; the Global President of the Offa Descendants Union (ODU), Dr. Muideen Salako Olaniyi; and a delegation of Kwara State Commissioners, members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, all 16 local government council chairmen, councillors, and All Progressives Congress (APC) local government chairmen.
The revered Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Muhammed Gbadamosi Okikiola Esuwoye II, will serve as royal host to other traditional rulers from across the state and beyond.
The memorial honours the enduring legacy of Prince S.A.B. Oloyede, a respected patriarch and community leader, whose contributions to the development of Offa continue to be remembered over five decades after his passing.
He was the father of Prince Femi Agbaje Whyte, the current Special Adviser on Political Matters to Governor AbdulRazaq among other prominent children.
Musical entertainment will be provided by legendary Fuji artist King Saheed Osupa (Olufimoh 1), adding a vibrant cultural dimension to what promises to be a dignified and memorable occasion.
