Fubara, Wike, Amaewhule Reunite Publicly In Rivers After Presidential Peace Talks
Osun

Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, FCT Minister and former Governor Nyesom Wike, and suspended Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, were sighted together on Saturday in a rare public appearance following renewed peace efforts brokered by the Presidency.

The trio, who have been at the centre of a prolonged political impasse in Rivers State, attended a funeral service held in Rumueprikom, Wike’s hometown in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, just days after a high-level reconciliation meeting convened by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.

This development marks the latest attempt to restore political stability in the state after nearly two years of deep-seated internal rifts and factional alignments.

Among other dignitaries present at the event were Senators Allwell Onyesoh, George Thompson Sekibo, and Olaka Nwogu; former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche; ex-lawmaker Hon. Ken Chikere; APC South-South Vice Chairman, Victor Giadom; and former PDP Deputy National Chairman, Dr. Sam Sam Jaja.

Meanwhile, sources indicate that Governor Fubara is scheduled to meet privately with his core supporters today to provide a strategic briefing on the outcome of Thursday’s peace deliberations at the Presidential Villa.
