The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation into the death of a young woman, Aladi Offikwu Johnson, whose lifeless body was discovered in a hotel room in the Gwarinpa area of Abuja.

The development follows the circulation of a disturbing video on social media, which showed the victim with her hands tied—raising public alarm over the circumstances surrounding her death.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed that the Commissioner of Police, AIG Benneth Igweh, has ordered an in-depth investigation to determine the events that led to the incident.

According to preliminary findings, the deceased had checked into the hotel located along 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, on June 16, 2025, accompanied by an unidentified male who later left the premises alone. Her body was discovered by a hotel staff during routine service, prompting an immediate report to the police.

“The Commissioner of Police urges the public to remain calm and allow investigators to conduct a thorough inquiry to uncover the truth,” the statement read.

According to DAILY POST, recalls that this case adds to a troubling pattern of similar deaths in the capital, often linked to suspected ritual killings. In most instances, the culprits vanish without a trace, leaving behind unanswered questions and grieving families.
