The Deputy Leader of the Senate and Lawmaker representing Kwara South senatorial district, Architect Oyelola Yisa Ashiru has praised founding fathers of Nigeria democracy for their role in ensuring that democracy as a form of government takes root in Nigeria.
Senator Ashiru in his Democracy Day message, affirms his belief in democracy, stating that it is a sure way of guaranteeing all inclusive and active participation of the people in governance with all its dividends.
Ashiru, while underscoring the importance and sacrifices Nigerians paid to return governance from military to civilian rule commends the commemoration of June, 12 as Democracy Day In Nigeria.
He called on members of his constituency-the good people of Kwara South senatorial district, and the entire Kwarans, to use the period of this celebration to foster unity, peace and love so as to create enabling environment where economic activities will thrive.
He also describes Nigeria youths as major partners in the democratic ideals and urged them to keep faith in the Nigeria project while contributing their quota to the development of the nation.
