Two political associations, both using the acronym ADA, are among 110 groups vying for official party status with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), sparking confusion in political circles over their identities and strategic motives ahead of the 2027 elections.
The first group, All Democratic Alliance (ADA), led by Chief Akin Ricketts, is listed as number 109 on INEC’s register. It is reportedly an anti-Tinubu coalition vehicle. The second, Advanced Democratic Alliance (ADA), number 110, is chaired by Alhaji Ahmadu Suleiman, with Zipporah Pius Miracles as secretary.
Despite sharing the same acronym, the groups differ in leadership and location. Ricketts’ ADA is headquartered at UAC Complex, Samuel Ademulegun Street, Central Business District, Abuja, while Suleiman’s ADA operates from Frandriance Close, off Aminu Kano Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.
With 110 associations seeking registration, INEC faces the challenge of verifying their legality, identities, and ensuring public clarity amid potential confusion.
