The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has apprehended two suspects for allegedly breaking into five different shops to steal clothing items, including boxers, singlets, and shirts, in the Idiroko area of the state.
The suspects, identified as Daniel Enitan, 24, and Adetona Sodeeq, 23, were captured by So-Safe Corps officers during a routine patrol in the Aferiku area of the community.
The arrest was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Commander of the Corps, Soji Ganzallo, through the Office of the Public Relations Officer, Moruf Yusuf, and made available to DAILY POST on Saturday.
According to the statement, the suspects attempted to flee upon sighting the patrol team but were swiftly apprehended.
> ‘Commander Ganzallo, officers, and men of the agency at Idiroko Area Command, in conjunction with the Idiroko Division, while on routine patrol on May 7, 2025, at about 2 a.m., noticed suspicious movements by individuals in the Aferiku area of the community,’ the statement read.
Ganzallo stated that suspicion arose due to the suspects’ behavior as they were seen carrying school bags believed to contain stolen items.
> ‘Due to this suspicion, the patrol team accosted the suspects. Upon sighting the team, they attempted to flee,’ he explained.
Following their arrest and subsequent interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to breaking into five different shops before targeting one beside Ikolaje Primary School along Border Road, Idiroko.
A search conducted at the scene revealed that their bags were filled with various items, including clothing, shoes, and other accessories. Recovered items included one power bank, one hammer, one singlet, two large school bags, two crossbody bags, one ‘3-in-1’ boxer pack, six pairs of boxers, six polo shirts, four pairs of jeans trousers, three pairs of crocs, and eight pairs of palm sandals.
Commander Ganzallo confirmed that the suspects and the recovered items have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
