In a bold move to strengthen agricultural development and empower local farmers, Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central Senatorial District, on Monday distributed multi-million Naira worth of tractors and essential farm inputs to farmers, cooperatives, and agricultural associations across the district.
The distribution, which took place in Ilorin, is part of the senator’s ongoing constituency projects and a demonstration of his commitment to enhancing food production and rural livelihoods.
“This initiative is designed to boost agricultural productivity, uplift rural livelihoods, and promote mechanized farming, especially with the 2025 rainy season now underway,” Senator Mustapha stated in a message shared on his official Facebook page.
The senator, who also serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production, Services, and Rural Development, reaffirmed his dedication to advancing rural development and agricultural empowerment in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
Senator Mustapha congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to make effective use of the equipment and inputs to improve their productivity and contribute meaningfully to the agricultural growth of Kwara Central.
The gesture has drawn commendations from stakeholders in the agricultural sector who see it as a significant step toward ensuring food security and promoting sustainable farming practices in the region.
