The Kwara State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has successfully resolved a series of internal disputes within the Offa Local Government Area (LGA) chapter of the party following a peace meeting convened at the State Party Secretariat on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
The meeting, initiated by the Acting State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Abdullahi Samari, was aimed at investigating petitions submitted against key stakeholders in the Offa LGA chapter.
In attendance were critical figures including the council chairman, councillors, House of Assembly members, party executives at both the local government and ward levels, as well as political appointees.
Findings from the Meeting
After a thorough deliberation, the party leadership uncovered that the letter of no confidence allegedly signed by 20 members from each ward was forged.
Eleven out of the twelve ward chairmen denied any knowledge of the said document.
Additionally, the reported suspension of two members of the Kwara State House of Assembly representing Offa constituencies was also declared null and void, as the Offa LGA Party Chairman confirmed he was not involved.
Resolutions Reached
1. All disagreements have been amicably resolved through prior in-house discussions.
2. Stakeholders unanimously expressed renewed confidence in the party leadership and pledged continued support.
3. A collective commitment was made to work harmoniously under the same leadership structure for the advancement of the party, Offa community, and Kwara State.
4. The meeting reaffirmed loyalty to the leadership of His Excellency, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and promised to uphold and strengthen the APC structure across the state.
The communique emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and loyalty among all party members.
“Together, we can achieve greater heights and build a stronger APC in Offa LGA and Kwara State,” it concluded.
