NSE President Oguntala To Inaugurate Offa Branch May 31

The National President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Margaret Aina Oguntala, FNSE, FNSChE, is billed to inaugurate the newly elected executives and formally commission the Offa Branch of the professional body on Saturday May 31, 2025.

The high-profile event, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. at the Stella Obasanjo Hall, Federal Polytechnic Mini Campus, Offa, Kwara State, will mark a new chapter in the town’s engineering development and professional networking.

The Offa Branch, also known as the Peacock Branch, is one of the newest additions to the expanding network of the NSE across the country.

The inauguration comes barely a month after the successful conduct of the branch’s Annual General Meeting and election on April 29, which saw Engr. Abdul Fatai Kolawole Yusuf, MNSE, emerge as the pioneer chairman.

Engr. Yusuf will be officially sworn in alongside other members of the executive council during the ceremony.

Expected to grace the occasion are top NSE officials, members of the Association of Nigerian Engineers, captains of industry, technocrats, and stakeholders in Nigeria’s engineering and industrial landscape.

Adding a touch of royal splendour to the event, the Olofa of Offa, His Royal Majesty Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, will be in attendance alongside other prominent traditional rulers.

The newly established branch has extended an open invitation to the public, calling on residents of Offa and beyond to be part of what it described as a “historic milestone” in the town’s quest for technological advancement and capacity building.

The NSE, established in 1958, remains Nigeria’s foremost professional engineering body, promoting high standards of practice and contributing to national development through innovation and advocacy.
