Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central in the National Assembly, has disassociated herself from a viral TikTok video that recently made rounds online, featuring her dancing to “Omo Ologo,” a song celebrating President Bola Tinubu.
In an official statement shared via her verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Akpoti-Uduaghan refuted any connection to the TikTok account behind the video, urging the public to beware of parody accounts on various social media platforms.
“I do not own a TikTok account,” she wrote. “There are numerous parody accounts in my name across X (Twitter), Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, some with significant followings.”
The senator clarified that the video in question was manipulated from an old 2023 clip and edited with “mischievous intent” to mislead viewers.
“While I hold the President in high regard, I urge everyone to disregard the misleading post created using an old 2023 video of mine,” she added.
The viral clip, soundtracked by “Omo Ologo,” a praise song performed by Dauda Kahutu Rarara at a recent event in Katsina attended by Tinubu, was edited to falsely suggest Akpoti-Uduaghan’s alignment with the president’s camp.
