The Honourable Moshood Adeleke Foundation has joined millions around the world to mark this year’s International Workers’ Day, saluting the resilience, sacrifices, and contributions of Nigerian workers to national development.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Foundation lauded workers across all sectors for their unrelenting efforts in sustaining the economy, building communities, and upholding the spirit of service.

“Today, we honour the dedication and perseverance of every Nigerian worker who toils daily — often under challenging conditions — to keep our society functional and our hopes alive,” the statement read.

The Foundation emphasized that workers remain the backbone of the nation, and called for greater investment in their welfare, capacity building, and improved working conditions.

“As we celebrate Workers’ Day, we must also reflect on the urgent need to create a fairer, safer, and more inclusive labour environment where every worker is valued and rewarded accordingly.”

The Honourable Moshood Adeleke Foundation, known for its philanthropic and empowerment initiatives across Kwara State, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the economic well-being of vulnerable groups, artisans, and the self-employed — many of whom form the informal workforce often overlooked in policy discussions.

The Foundation concluded its message with a call for unity, productivity, and renewed hope in the future of work in Nigeria.

“Happy Workers’ Day to all our heroes in labour. Your sacrifices do not go unnoticed.”
