A shocking incident in Benin City has led to the arrest of a grandmother who severely burned her granddaughter’s hands as punishment for eating Indomie noodles without permission.
According to reports, the young girl, driven by hunger, ate the noodles despite her grandmother’s instructions not to. In a disturbing act of discipline, the grandmother allegedly placed the child’s hands directly on a gas burner, causing serious burns.
A concerned witness alerted the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs, which promptly intervened. The grandmother was taken into custody, while the child was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for urgent medical care.
