The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has questioned popular Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo regarding alleged currency abuse during her daughter Priscilla Ojo’s wedding.
Priscilla tied the knot with Tanzanian singer Jux in a grand ceremony held in Nigeria on April 17, 2025, following their Islamic wedding in Tanzania in February. The event, widely celebrated on social media, saw the presence of both Nigerian and international celebrities.
Footage from the lavish event showed guests spraying dollar bills and Naira notes, sparking concerns over currency abuse.
Addressing the rumors surrounding her invitation by the EFCC, Iyabo Ojo took to Instagram to clarify the situation, stating she was interrogated after willingly honoring the agency’s invitation.
According to her, the questioning covered her personal information, career, work experience, and business ventures.
Ojo further disclosed that she was asked if she was aware that spraying money was illegal. She explained that she only knew about the prohibition of Naira mutilation and was unaware that spraying any currency, including dollars, was also forbidden.
“The EFCC clarified that spraying money on people’s bodies is prohibited. I was surprised to learn that spraying any currency, including dollars, is also not allowed,” she wrote.
