The Association of Communication Scholars and Professionals of Nigeria (ACSPN) has officially announced a change in venue for its upcoming 12th Annual Conference, now scheduled to take place at MBB EVENTS, KM 2, Refinery Road, Opposite Army Barracks Link Road, Effurun, Warri, Delta State.
The conference will hold from Wednesday, September 3 to Thursday, September 4, 2025, with arrival on Tuesday, September 2 and departure on Friday, September 5.
Speaking on the change, Professor Adeshina Lukuman Azeez, the North Central Vice President of ACSPN, explained that the shift from the earlier announced venue in Asaba to Warri was necessitated by “certain dynamics that played out after the association’s last national meeting.”
He expressed gratitude to key figures who have contributed to the planning and organization of the conference, including the immediate past leaders, Prof. Umaru Pate and Prof. Nosa Owens-Ibie; National President, Prof. Rotimi Olatunji; Deputy President, Prof. Abigail Ogwezzy-Ndisak; National Treasurer, Dr. Ifedolapo Ademosu; and the host, Prof. Majority Orji.
“We thank them for walking with us until we reached this sure milestone,” he said.
The ACSPN Secretariat, on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, has confirmed that preparations are well underway and a suitable venue has been secured to ensure a successful and impactful gathering.
An updated e-flyer reflecting the venue change has already been released, and members have been encouraged to disseminate it widely.
The 2025 conference will focus on the theme, “Corruption, Governance, and Media in Nigeria,” providing a platform for scholars, communication professionals, and policy experts to interrogate the role of media in promoting transparency, accountability, and public engagement in governance.
