President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy and Communications, Daniel Bwala, has dismissed claims that the President traveled to France for medical treatment.
Speaking on Channels TV’s Sunday Politics, Bwala clarified that Tinubu is in France on a working visit, not for health-related reasons.
He criticized the spread of misinformation on social media, saying: “Sometimes on social media, somebody will be tweeting—you don’t even know who the person is; it can be someone struggling with mental health issues somewhere. You just see information flying around.”
Bwala emphasized that the Presidency has been transparent about Tinubu’s engagements in France. “The President did not go to see a doctor. He’s on a working visit, and we have been publishing his activities,” he said.
Tinubu departed for Paris on April 2, 2025, and is expected to return to Nigeria on Wednesday, April 16.
