The two lawmakers representing Offa Local Government Area at the Kwara State House of Assembly—Hon. AbdulWaheed Gbenga Yusuf JK (Essa/Shawo/Igboidun) and Hon. Ogunniyi Seun Ogunniyi Adato (Ojomu/Balogun)—held a successful stakeholders’ engagement meeting today, despite being denied access to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Offa.

This was a striking display of political maturity and unwavering commitment to party unity and structure.

The meeting, which was originally slated to hold at the APC Secretariat, encountered an unexpected disruption when the venue was discovered sealed, with security personnel stationed to prevent access.

Rather than allow the incident derail the gathering, the lawmakers promptly relocated the event to the Offa Descendants Union (ODU) Hall, where the meeting proceeded peacefully and without incident.

The stakeholders’ meeting, an expansion of previous ward-level engagements, brought together party faithfuls and leaders from across the 12 wards of Offa Local Government Area.

It was aimed at fostering unity, reinforcing grassroots mobilization, and consolidating support for the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and the APC.

The ODU Hall was graced by prominent political figures, including Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru (Kwara South Senatorial District); Chief Abdulhakeem Kayode Adebiyi Ojokure; Vice Chairperson of Offa LGA, Hon. Modupe Ajibade Olawoyin; Offa LGA Development Officer, Hon. Zainab Abass; former TIC Chairman, Hon. Jare Olatuntun; former TIC Vice Chairperson, Hon. Aishat Raji; the Kwara South Senatorial Women Leader, Alhaja Mujedat Amototo; and the leader of the APC Elders Caucus in Offa, Mallam Abdulmaheed Adeorike.

Also present were respected grassroots mobilizers and stakeholders, including former Permanent Secretary Alhaja Bilqis Sanni Alasonla; former LGA Vice Chairperson, Hajia Nike Oyekanmi; Alhaji Razaq Oyewo; former Councillors; ward and LGA party executives; and other APC loyalists.

Discussions at the meeting centered on promoting internal harmony, discipline, and political inclusiveness within the party.

Speakers unanimously commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his developmental strides and inclusive governance, which they described as unprecedented in the history of the state.

The lawmakers emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue with constituents and pledged to maintain open channels of communication to strengthen the party’s structure at the grassroots level.

Despite the initial setback, the meeting concluded on a positive and enthusiastic note, reinforcing the commitment of the lawmakers and stakeholders to building a stronger, more united, and people-focused APC in Offa.

The successful relocation and outcome of the meeting have been widely seen as a testament to the political maturity and leadership acumen of the Offa legislators and their allies, who placed party unity and stakeholder engagement above politics of rancor and confrontation.
