The Mallam Saliu Mustapha (MSM) Titans, Kwara North Chapter, on Saturday, April 26, 2025, held a political symposium themed “Mallam Saliu Mustapha: The Panacea of Development” at Mobolaji Hotel, along Kara Market, Kaima, in Kaima Local Government Area.
The MSM Titans, a leading support group championing Senator Saliu Mustapha’s bid for the 2027 Kwara State governorship, gathered key political stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters to discuss the Senator’s vision for transformative leadership in the state.
Ahead of the event, the MSM Titans delegation paid a courtesy visit to the keynote speaker, Alhaji Abubakar Moh’d Tukur Omar, the Chiroma of Kaima, at his residence.
During the visit, they also engaged with influential community figures including Seriki Dusigogo (Buba), Seriki Tivi (Nuku), Yerima Kura Gbenekpata, Mallam Audu Kwadolizami, and Alhaji Bala to foster synergy and discuss the 2027 governorship ambition of Senator Mustapha.
In his opening address, the State Coordinator of MSM Titans, Shehu Afunja, expressed profound appreciation to the local government coordinators, ward leaders, and key stakeholders for their unwavering support.
He lauded the contributions of figures such as Comrade Abdullahi Aminu (Kaiama LG Coordinator), Alhassan Halidu (Baruten LG Coordinator), and others for their dedication to the cause.
“Our beloved state of Kwara is rich in talent but lacking in visionary leadership. Mallam Saliu Mustapha has consistently demonstrated a commitment to public service, prioritizing the welfare of the masses over personal gain,” Afunja said.
He highlighted Senator Mustapha’s impressive legislative record at the National Assembly, citing key bills and motions sponsored, including: The Electronic Transaction Bill, 2023, The National Food Reserve Agency (Establishment) Bill, 2023, The Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, 2025, The Integrated Rural Development Agency (Establishment) Bill, 2024, The Local Government Fiscal Accountability Bill, 2024 among others.
Among his notable motions is the urgent call for the construction of a pedestrian overhead bridge at the Oko-Olowo intersection on the Ilorin-Jebba Federal Highway, and a co-sponsored motion to establish a national food stamp programme.
Afunja emphasized Senator Mustapha’s widespread impact across Kwara State, citing initiatives such as full-time scholarships awarded to over 2,500 students in the past decade, mega empowerment programs, and educational support for thousands of underprivileged youths.
“Mallam Saliu Mustapha is not merely following a different approach; he embodies the essence of transformative leadership. He is the goal we aspire to achieve for Kwara’s future,” Afunja stated.
In his welcome address, Comrade Abdullahi Aminu, Kaiama Local Government Coordinator of MSM Titans, described the event as a “testament to the impact of Mallam Salihu Mustapha’s work and legacy in our community.”
He urged participants to seize the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and strengthen the movement.
Another highlight of the event was a session by Haliru Salihu Usman, who spoke passionately on “The Involvement of Youth in Politics.” He stressed the need for greater youth participation in governance, noting that young people possess the energy, creativity, and innovative ideas necessary to drive sustainable development.
Usman encouraged youths to take advantage of opportunities to learn, mobilize, and actively engage in shaping the political future of Kwara State.
In his closing remarks, Usman reiterated that the future of Kwara — and indeed Nigeria — rests largely on the shoulders of its youth. He called on the young generation to rally behind credible leaders like Senator Saliu Mustapha, who not only empower the youth through scholarships and entrepreneurship initiatives but also advocate policies that secure a better tomorrow.
The symposium witnessed the attendance of several MSM Titans leaders, including Yusuf Tajudeen (Kwara South Coordinator), Elelu NK (Ilorin West LG Coordinator), Hon. Yinusa Jamiu Olayinka (Gomih), Abiola Abidemi, Jubril Hawawu (Edu LG Woman Leader), Hammed Mohammed Ndagi (Edu LG Coordinator), and Hammed Abubakar Sodiq (Ward 1, Edu LG Coordinator).
The event concluded with a renewed commitment by members and stakeholders to continue projecting Senator Saliu Mustapha as the best candidate to lead Kwara State into a new era of development and prosperity in 2027.
