Yekini Adeojo, a founding member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and prominent Ibadan politician, has passed away.
He died in the early hours of Friday at his residence in Iyaganku Government Reserved Area, Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
Adeojo was a former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the PDP and held the prestigious title of Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland. He was also a well-respected political figure in Ibadan and the father of Sheriff Adeojo, the current Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government Area.
The veteran politician contested the Oyo State governorship election under the PDP in 1999.
As of press time, details surrounding his death remained unclear. However, a family source confirmed his passing, saying:
“Our father died this morning (Friday). We are working on burial arrangements, and the family will issue a statement soon.”
