The Executive Council of Osun State has firmly denied rumours suggesting that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming their loyalty to his administration.

At a press conference held yesterday and attended by 25 commissioners and 10 special advisers, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dosu Babatunde, dismissed the claims as unfounded speculation.

Babatunde, who also serves as Secretary of the Forum of Commissioners, emphasized that the entire Osun State Executive Council remains fully committed to Governor Adeleke and his vision for the state’s development.

Addressing a question about whether the council would follow Adeleke if he chose to leave the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Babatunde was unequivocal: the governor has no plans to defect.

He stated, “Governor Adeleke is firmly a PDP governor, and his developmental achievements in Osun are widely recognised by leaders across the country. He is not joining any other political party. It is even malicious to suggest otherwise. As close members of his team, we are committed to staying in the PDP and advancing its success. Governor Adeleke will continue his developmental efforts under the PDP.”
