The mother of the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Muhammad Gbadamosi Okikiola Esuwoye II, Ajagungbade I, Matriarch Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi (Iya Ijebu), aged 94, has passed away.
This was contained in a press release issued by Idowu Olufemi Israel, the Principal Private Secretary to the Olofa of Offa.
According to the statement, the respected matriarch breathed her last on the evening of Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Born on January 3, 1931, Alhaja Hawawu Awele Gbadamosi lived a long, impactful life devoted to faith, family, and community.
She is survived by children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
The Janazah (Islamic funeral prayer) is scheduled to take place tomorrow, Sunday, April 6, 2025, by 4:00 PM at the residence of His Royal Majesty, located on Muu Road, Offa, Kwara State.
The Palace prays that Almighty Allah forgives her shortcomings, grants her eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and bestows strength upon the family and the entire Offa community to bear this irreparable loss.
