Nollywood actor and self-proclaimed relationship expert, Lege Miami, has come under fire for making inflammatory remarks suggesting that married women who use passwords on their phones are “prostitutes” and should leave their homes.
In a widely circulated video, Lege asserted that while it is acceptable for men to secure their phones and engage in extramarital affairs, women do not have the same right. He argued that a married woman who protects her phone with a password is automatically unfaithful and unfit for marriage.
“Any housewife who puts a password on her phone or uses it to hide information is a prostitute,” he said. “If you think because your husband has a password on his phone, you can do the same, you’re not ready for marriage. Pack your load and leave the house.”
Lege went further to defend male infidelity, stating, “Your husband can cheat, but as a woman, you don’t have the right to cheat. That’s how to be a good and responsible wife.”
The actor’s comments have sparked widespread criticism across social media platforms, with many users condemning his views as misogynistic and outdated. Women’s rights advocates and online commentators have called out the double standards in his statements, labeling them as dangerous and regressive.
Despite the backlash, Lege has stood by his comments, further fueling the controversy surrounding his take on relationships and gender roles.
