Kwara PDP Chieftain, Hon. Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye Dies at 57 Hon. (Alhaji) Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye, an Offa-born chieftain of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has passed away at the age of 57.

Hon. (Alhaji) Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye, an Offa-born chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has passed away at the age of 57.

A seasoned politician and business mogul, Hon. Bintinlaye was a former National Director of Contact and Mobilization for the Atiku Care Foundation (ACF).

His sudden demise has elicited an outpouring of grief and tributes from political allies, associates, and well-wishers.

Expressing sorrow over his passing, Kwara PDP Publicity Secretary Olusegun Olusola Adewara wrote: “It’s so sad that you left when we needed you the most, but we can’t question Almighty God who created you. The little time you spent was impactful, and you touched so many lives. May you find mercy before Allah, in whom you served till your last breath. RIP Hon. Moruf Bintinlaye, Ishola Olofa Mojo, Omo Abisu Joruko. Till we meet and part no more.”

NNPP chieftain Asiwaju Mashood Shittu also mourned his passing, stating: “Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilaihi Raji’un. Alhaji Marouf Bukoye Bintinlaye, may your soul rest in peace. May Allah grant you Aljannah Firdaus.”

Muftau Damilola Nafisat (Effissy Mama), a fellow PDP stalwart, wrote: “Indeed, Bintinlaye. May Allah forgive you and grant you Jannatul Firdaus.”

Former Offa PDP PRO, Abiodun Adegoolu, also paid tribute: “Alhaji Marouph Bukoye Bintinlaye, may Almighty Allah forgive your shortcomings and grant you the best place in Jannah.”

Aare Musbau Olalekan Olaniyi, the Aare Bobajiroro of Offa, added: “Eni re loo. Allahu Akbar. May Allah forgive and grant him Aljanat. May He grant us and the family fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss. Rest on, egbon mi, in whom I’m well pleased.”

Similarly, the Chairman of MDD Nig. Ltd., Mr. Idowu Muhydeen Oladipo, described him as a man of wisdom and compassion: “In the symphony of humanity, your melody played a profound tune, harmonizing with the chords of wisdom and compassion. My deepest sympathies go out to the family of Hon. Marooph Bukoye Bintinlaye, a fantastic role model. May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and comfort his family, friends, and associates with the fortitude to bear the loss.”

Hon. Saheed Adekeye Olalekan Popoola, former Offa LG Chairman and a former Kwara State House of Assembly member, expressed his grief: “Heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on the passing of Hon. Maruf Bukoye Bintinlaye. His passing is devastating to all the lives he touched through his dedication, service, and leadership. May Almighty Allah grant him mercy, forgive his shortcomings, and admit him into Al Jannah Firdaus. May He also give strength and comfort to his family, friends, and the PDP family during this difficult time. Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un.”

Hon. Bukoye Marooph Bintinlaye was an accomplished accountant, politician, entrepreneur, and humanitarian. An alumnus of Offa Grammar School, he furthered his education at Kwara State Polytechnic, where he obtained OND and HND in Accounting.

He later pursued a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Oyo State.

A chartered accountant, Hon. Bintinlaye worked in banking before venturing into business. He was the CEO of Masfan Global Synergy Limited, Strong Ties Dynamics Limited, Great IGC Nigeria Ltd, and Core Value Systems Engineering and Consulting Limited.

He also played a key role in governance as the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Consultant on monitoring and evaluation of MDG projects in Kwara State from 2009 to 2014.

At the national level, he worked as a management consultant and training facilitator for members of the National Assembly.

A stalwart of the PDP since 1999, Hon. Bintinlaye made significant contributions to political development in Kwara State, particularly in his hometown of Offa and the Ojomu/Balogun Constituency.

He contested for the House of Representatives seat for Oyun, Offa, and Ifelodun Federal Constituency in 2022 under the PDP.

Renowned for his deep understanding of Kwara’s political landscape, he was respected across party lines and admired for his humility, sportsmanship, and commitment to grassroots development.

Beyond politics and business, Hon. Bintinlaye was an avid sports enthusiast. He was the founder of the Offa Champions League, a football competition designed to unite and empower youths through sports.

The second edition of the competition had recently commenced before his passing, reflecting his dedication to nurturing young talents.

His legacy as a political leader, business magnate, and philanthropist will be remembered by many whose lives he touched.
