Jenny Jones, a Nigerian woman based in the United States, has gone viral after opening up about her decision to leave America and move back to Nigeria.

According to Jenny, life in the U.S. has left her feeling burned out and unfulfilled. She explained that despite having access to resources like therapy and supplements, her mental health continues to suffer due to the repetitive nature of her lifestyle.

“I’m going to Nigeria because I feel burnt out in the U.S. and I need a break. I’m also starting my clothing line,” she said in one of her TikTok videos.

Jenny emphasized that for her, the move is about more than just launching a business. It’s about reclaiming her peace of mind and escaping the draining cycle of a 9-5 job.

“No amount of therapy or supplements can fix the emptiness you feel when you’re not fulfilled. You wake up, go to work, come home, clean, do laundry, and before you know it, it’s Monday again. That’s not how I want to live,” she shared.

Jenny plans to settle in Lagos, where she hopes to explore the many opportunities Nigeria has to offer.

She concluded her video series with a passionate message: “These are basically my diaries of moving to Nigeria. People ask, ‘Why would you leave the U.S.?’ And I tell them, ‘Because I don’t want to work 9-5 forever. I don’t want to work for anyone for the rest of my life.’ Just talking about moving back makes me glow.”
